To Have and To Hold

Image
"To Have and To Hold " I never truly understood the meaning of this until yesterday after watching a stand up comedy performance by a man named Mark.  What does it mean to have?  Let me give an illustration. Say, you have a phone. It's yours. You bought it because you liked it, its specifications, its functions and the fact that it suit your budget. Perfect.  Say, after some time, that phone developed a scratch. A tiny scratch that could be fixed by a repair, a new pouch or you being extra careful with it. But what do you do instead? You dump it and get a new one.  It still functioned properly, but it got a little dent, it yelled at you a little bit in a fit of anger, and boom! You got a replacement.  What does it mean to hold ?  To stay with it. Knowing that one scratch doesn't take away the purpose, knowing that one yell, one moment of weakness doesn't take away the true essence and character.  This is so in many of our relationships.  Da...

Don't love your job.. Job your love.

" Don't love your job, job your love" This was a phrase that tore the internet to pieces a few months ago.  A lot of people either did not understand the phrase, or simply followed the bandwagon and made a cruise or trend out of it.  Now, it is important to note that in many cases, these podcasters do actually say very many silly things. I QUIT MY JOB

I QUIT MY JOB.  No, I'm not a quitter. I RESIGNED from my job. I know that probably raises so many questions like, 'who resigns in this economy? Did you have something else to do before you left? Why did you leave? I thought you loved your job.' I will answer these in due time. But yes, I resigned in this economy. Largely because I was NOT fulfilled or accomplished in my previous workplace, it wasn't financially amazing either, but ultimately it was TIME TO GO.  Life is in phases. And just like every other areas of our lives, our career/work is something we do that not only gives us money but a sense of purpose.  The phase that I was; SURVIVAL.  This phase was characterized by doing what I had to, to get by in the moment and to ensure that my needs were met. This meant that I didn't need to like what I was doing, I just had to do it for the 'benefits'. Rent needed to be paid. Bills needed to be sorted. And God provided that.  But you know what He also does...
