Moses, Stammering, and me.

Image
‎Moses felt unqualified. As do I.  ‎When many people read or hear about Moses, they remember the man who encountered God in a burning bush, whose rod swallowed other rods, who parted the waters, struck the rock, spent so much time in God's presence that his face lit up and could not be looked upon, mediated between God and His people, boldly stood before Pharaoh.  ‎And truth be told, I think about all that too.  What a great vessel of Yahweh..  ‎However, beyond that, I think about Moses, the man who was a stammerer, who felt unqualified to go before the king of Egypt because of his speech impediment, even though he was being sent by God. So unqualified did the stammering make him feel that God had to send his brother with him to help with the talking.  ‎It humbles me. It equally scares me.  ‎Imagine being faced with a calling as great as that, but you have a 'disability' or 'flaw' that's completely not of your doing, that makes you feel inadequate. T...

The anxiety of being liked

Image
‎"Your post about Charlie Kirk isn't it at all " ‎This was the message someone sent to me after I posted a picture or Charlie Kirk with a simple caption ‎'Your voice will always be heard, RIP πŸ•Š" ‎I opened the message, and what caught my eye first was that this person hasn't texted me since 2023.  ‎No hello, no hi. Just straight to his opinion on MY post.  ‎Mind you, I post on that app EVERYDAY , and I have never seen a comment from this dude, not a message of encouragement, not a comment of support on a content I created or an article I wrote, nothing.  ‎But that wasn't why I felt my skin crawl in anxiety.  ‎I wanted to type that my opinion was my own and he could not tell me what was right or wrong, I wanted to ask him how a simple RIP post earned such a comment from him,  IN MY DM , I wanted so much to explain myself so I could be understood, I wanted so much to defend my stance, my post, my mind.  ‎But I did not.  ‎I simply closed the messag...

Be Like Spongebob -- or not

Image
‎Be Spongebob.  Hi, I'm Spongebob SquarePants πŸ‘‹ ‎You know Spongebob SquarePants, don't you?  ‎I am not going to assume that you don't know who he is or the show on Nickelodeon. It's a really fun show in my opinion, it goes on and on and Spongebob -- the main character -- is particularly fascinating to me.  ‎Everytime I see an episode and observe him keenly, I can't help but liken his traits to ours.  ‎So what if we could be like Spongebob? πŸ€” ‎πŸ‘‰πŸΎ So what if we are as kind as he is? ‎Spongebob is kind to literally everyone. Until and even when you are mean towards him or others, he is the kindest bottom feeder. He would give the shirt off his back, go the mile to help even strangers. Remember when his cousin Stanley S. SquarePants came around and couldn't hold any job? He took him to EVERYWHERE he knew, encouraging him that he wasn't bad, he just needed to find his thing and he would be good at it. Stanley almost stole his job as a Fry Cook at the Krusty ...

MY PLAN WAS GARRI

Image
MY PLAN WAS GARRI My church had a Praise Party last week Friday, and since it is the only kind of party you would ever see me at on a Friday night, I went all out dancing πŸ•ΊπŸ‘―πŸ’ƒ.  After over two hours of Praise, Prayers, and walking up and down in heels helping new comers and first-timers, I was physically tired and it was time to head home.  The thought of laying on my bed was bliss😁😁😁 On the way home, I started weighing my dinner options.  Dancing really does take it out of you, doesn't it?  I had some stew at home so I thought I would just boil rice and eat with it, but it was already almost 9pm and that would take about another hour before it was ready..  Plus.. Healthy living? πŸ˜… Too late..  Option B.  πŸ€” “ Buy Peanuts and drink garri tonight, boil the rice tomorrow .' πŸ’ It made sense. It was faster. And it was sustainable.  So BAM ! It was decided and I walked to the junction to board a vehicle home.  The shop where I was to g...
